Details

Transmission grating beamsplitters are commonly used for splitting He Ne laser beams and separating multiple lasers in the visible range. The transmitted light beam is diffracted into multiple orders. The transmission grating splitter is composed of a replicated layer of epoxy resin coated on a polished glass substrate with a refractive index matching it, in order to achieve higher overall diffraction efficiency. These beam splitters are specifically designed for He Ne laser beam splitting.

Fingerprints and various aerosols can cause damage to the grating coating. Minor scratches or surface imperfections usually do not affect its optical performance.
