Details

Beta phase barium borate (BBO) crystals have a wide wavelength range (190-3500nm), especially good transmission in the ultraviolet band. However, they have a small receiving angle and a large divergence angle. BBO crystals have a high damage threshold and are suitable for high-power applications with good optical uniformity. They are an efficient nonlinear crystal.
It can be widely used in different types of lasers such as dye lasers, ultrafast pulse lasers, titanium sapphire, argon ion lasers, and copper vapor lasers, such as 1064nm and 800nm second, third, and fourth harmonic generation. In addition, the OPO and OPA systems of BBO crystals can also be used to generate a wide range of tunable phase dry light output from ultraviolet to infrared, with good electro-optic effect. It is also the most commonly used electro-optic crystal for electro-optic Q-switching and modulation devices.
